The Westlock Golf Club (WGC) Board would like to clarify some of the operational changes in place at the club. Similar to how grocery stores and other businesses have changed their routines to keep everyone safe during this public health crisis, the WGC is implementing these changes to ensure public safety while providing an opportunity to play golf. The WGC Staff are following the rules laid out by the Alberta Government and Alberta Health Services (AHS). These rules must be followed in order for WGC to open, for people to be able to golf, and to keep WGC staff and patrons safe.
These guidelines include, but are not limited to:
Keeping the Clubhouse and Proshop closed to ALL people except staff;
Golfers may only arrive fifteen minutes prior to tee time;
Only one golfer per power cart unless the golfers have proof of living in the same residence. (AHS has been policing courses and requesting proof from golfers)
More details can be found at https://www.alberta.ca/alberta-relaunch-strategy. This isn’t a choice that WGC or WGC Staff have made. They are the rules that we must follow during the pandemic or be at risk of closure.
To assist with the payment process, WGC has updated our website to include an online store so potential members can buy their membership and services for the 2020 season. We see that quite a few members have taken advantage of this new system – thank you. If you do not have a credit card we are able to take payment via etransfer at email@example.com. If you are not comfortable using the online option, you can also call the Proshop during operating hours and speak with one of our qualified staff to process your credit card payment over the phone.
The Alberta Government and AHS COVID-19 rules are new for our staff and they are training to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. Part of this is taking each patron through protocols as they arrive, sanitizing each cart prior to use, etc… we ask for your patience and understanding during this time.
Soon we will be fully open to all golfers and the full eighteen holes. Everyone has access to book tee times on our website once open. Members have an added feature when logged in as they can book right onto the tee sheet and see all of their personal activity at the club.
Again, we would like to thank you for your support and understanding during these unprecedented times.
